Beatnik en route. A tour through some different Markets

Looking back, we can see how many miles we’ve gone to get our shoes and boots to you. And that you can meet them in person.

We have done all kinds of routes and we have travelled loaded so that we are not just an image on your computer screen or mobile phone. We have made all kinds of routes so that we are not only an image on your computer screen or mobile phone, but also so that you can see them, touch them, try them and get to know their history.

From the very beginning, we have been committed to technology on the one hand and to human contact whenever possible. We wanted that contact not to mean more intermediaries or fixed costs and that we could offer you our models with an extreme quality, at a price as affordable as possible within their product range. That is, shoes and boots made in Spain by traditional procedures with an extreme attention to detail, from the best cowhide, and with a classic design that is not influenced by fashions. And for this, the design fair and the seasonal markets have allowed us to combine these premises.

Beatnik in the Basque Country

There are some that have left us a lot of mark like the first market of Beatnik Shoes in Euskadi, specifically in Guecho, Vizcaya. In the fantastic San Joseren Palace we spent a weekend at the Mahala Market. There we met many new friends with whom we have shared news and laughter for a long time after that distant (and so rainy) weekend in May. And we are looking forward to returning to the Basque Country with Beatnik.

Beatnik Shoes of Market in Barcelona and in Valencia

Another of the magical places we miss so much and hope to return is Valencia. Inside Palo Alto Market, we visited the nursery gardens. A real luxury to be in the center of Valencia. Surrounded by vegetation and with live music coming to our Beatnik stop. With our Oxford shoes and Chelsea boots surrounded by trees and fountains. It is amazing then how many friends have found us there and we have kept in touch throughout all these years. So it wouldn’t surprise us to return with our Beatnik shoes to the Palo Market Fest in Valencia one of these calls.

Oxfords, Loafers and Beatnik Boots in Valladolid

And when it comes to talking about emblematic places, taken from another time, we have to remember the incredible Circulo de Recreo de Valladolid, home of the Sunday Market. To be in the centre of the city, in an authentic palace with very high ceilings is a lot. Besides presenting Beatnik in what looks like a ballroom, is a real pleasure. The times we have been there we have been able to enjoy the city of Pisuerga river. With an organization that does everything it can to make the event a success. It is a pleasure to present our shoes and boots Beatnik Shoes in the Sunday Market of Valladolid.

Also, Beatnik in Madrid

As for Madrid, we have been to several very special markets.
One of our first market was Mercado de Diseño de Madrid in Matadero. And then, Mercado de Motores at the train museum of Delicias Station.

And some others we hope that one day they will come back again. One of them is the Molly Market, at the college of engineers in Madrid. There, in the heart of Madrid, between the Malasaña and Chueca neighborhoods. And in front of a Japanese interior garden, we have had many good times. The COAM space is an incredible exhibition space. The organization, with Jade at the head, is doing its best to make the time fly. And we have really enjoyed that Beatnik was the Oxford shoes and Chelsea boots of the Molly Market in Madrid.

Among the places with more flavor in which we have never been like Beatnik, the Nomad Market would be the most original. The barley market in Madrid, in the Latina district, is working at full capacity. On the one hand, you could do your daily shopping and see all sorts of proposals on the top floor of this huge market in the centre of Madrid. To be able to dress the stall with the Beatnik brand and that in a surprising way, will fit, was pure magic. And walking between food stalls with our Beatnik shoes and boots inside the Nomad Market was a real experience.
